Information Technology

Information technology is derived from the Latin ‘texere’ which means to build. Basically, the technology has two important aspects, namely the software (software) and hardware (hardware). Information technology is not far away from the life-world development technology itself.

Both components (hardware and software) are related to each other, working together to create an information technology. However, it looks more dominant technology in hardware (hardware). Even so, the software (software) also has a very important role.

Information technology is a technology that serves to process data (process, obtain, compile, store and manipulate data) in various ways, so as to produce quality information. In this case, the required information must be relevant and accurate. In addition, the information is useful for personal, business, and government.

Information technology is often associated with communication technology. This is because the software and hardware is interconnected with one another. Basically, information technology and communication technology have the same definition. Communications technology means all information technology that supports all communication technologies.

No wonder, if this time comes the term ICT (Information and Communication Technology). ICT is an evidence of the merging of two aspects: information technology and communication technology. This term appears, after the combination of information technology and communications technology in the 20th century.
