Ihram is one of the pillars that must be done when performing Hajj or Umrah. Ihram can also be interpreted as the clothing worn by every Muslim when he perform Hajj or Umrah.
Someone who is about to perform Hajj or Umrah is obligatory upon him to perform ihram from miqat specified. Understanding of miqat itself is a place and time limit prescribed for a Muslim who will perform the pilgrimage or umrah when to start ihramnya.
Miqat based on the place called Miqat Makani. While miqat based on the time called Miqat Zamani. There is a difference between the two is appealing. What are the differences? And where are the places recommended ihram?
First we will discuss is miqat makani. Do any of you who do not know what it is miqat makani? For Muslims living in Mecca, their home becomes a place to perform hajj ihram. As for Umrah, should come out of the ground ihramnya unlawful Makah, and the best is right in the Ji’ranah, Tan’eim, or Hudaibiyah. However, for those who live outside of Mecca, there are five places to start ihram, including the following:
First is Juhfah old village which is often bypassed by visitors from Sham towards Mecca. Juhfah which is the miqat for the population of Egypt, Sham, and anyone who passes by.
Both are Qarnulmanazil that is for the people of Taif miqat and those who pass through. Place ihramnya mushrifs mountain in Arafat.
Third is Yalamlam which is appealing to the people of Yemen. Yalamlam tenpat ihram is taken from the name of a hill in the mountains Tihamah.
Fourth is Zul Hulaifah which is miqat for the people of Medina. Bani Jasyum drinking water is now known as the name of Bir Ali. Ihramyang Miqat is the farthest place away from the city of Mecca.
The fifth or the last one is Zattu Irqin, is miqat determined by consensus of the scholars. Therefore it was agreed by scholars, Miqat is not mentioned in the hadith of the Prophet. Miqat is a place that is passed by the people in the State of Iraq.
Once there Miqat Makani, there is also Miqat Zamani. At the time of the hajj, the scholars agreed that miqat begins in the month of Shawwal until dawn on 10 Dhul-Hijjah, when performed Hajj.
As for the time of the Umrah, miqat zamani can be initiated in the year.
Unlike Miqat Makani defined only by scholars, all miqat makani is set directly by the Prophet, except miqat Zattu Irqin. While miqat zamani mentioned in the holy book Quran surah Al-Baqarah, verse 189.
The contents of the letter were “They ask you (O Muhammad) about the crescent moon. Say, ‘It is (hint) time for humans and (religious) pilgrimage’ And not a virtue into houses of it, but it is a virtue (virtue) the cautious. Get into all the houses from the doors, and fear Allah, that you’re lucky. ”
In place of ihram we are obliged to do all acts that have been set out in the Quran or Hadith called ihram procedures. How is the correct procedure when berikhram in its place?
Rules Ihram in Places of Worship
If you’re doing in a place of worship there are some procedures to be done while there. A simple example is the sandals off before entering the mosque, then perform ablution and then praying. Likewise in the ihram, there are several things to consider.
Of course you already know that those who perform Hajj or Umrah will have to follow the example of all the actions of the Prophet. These are some of the sunna of the Prophet which we must follow in order to get more of the glory of our worship. The first thing to do before or sunna berihram in places of worship is a bath, either for women or men that are in a state of purity.
The hadiths which discusses the activities of bathing, narrated by Jabir radi ‘anhu.
“Then we go out together he sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam and when arrived at Dhul Hulaifah Umais Asma bint Abi Bakr ibn Muhammad gave birth and he (Asthma) sent (someone to meet) to the Prophet sallallaahu’ alaihi wa sallam (and said): What I’m working on? Then he sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam said: Bathe & beristitsfarlah then ihram. ” (Reported by Muslim (2941) 8/404 1909 Abu Daud & Ibn Majah no.1905 no.3074)
Clean virtually all parts of your body when ablution that dirt is in you missing that you be clean / pure. If there is no water to wash your body, tayamum only. As you will worship ihram, disunahkan to wear perfume. Wearing perfume is also the activities performed by the Prophet Muhammad before he berihram.
Although it is recommended to wear fragrances, are only allowed to wear into the skin and not into ihram clothes. Although using scented oils are allowed, nonetheless there are some different opinions to them. Opinions or problem consists of two things, such as taking a shower or berihram soap before it is allowed, and wear perfume after showering and before ihram, and perfume is not lost until the ihram is completed, it is allowed by almost all scholars except Imam Malik.
One of the arguments that allow it are by Aisha radi ‘anha, which reads “the Prophet sallallaahu’ alaihi wa sallam berihram if you want to wear perfume the most fragrant that he gained later I saw a flash of the oil on his head and his beard after that.” (Narrated by Muslim no.2830).
There are two questions that never accepted by Shaykh Muhammad ibn Saalih al Uthaymeen about using scented oils. The first question is whether, if someone wearing perfume on the head or beard and perfume hatch so as to place of worship will it be?
From that question came the answer that the displacement fragrance unintentional then it will not affect their worship. While they were in a place of worship but menggenakan perfume on the circumstances that allowed then it’s fine.
Question two is when someone has been using hair oil ablution then he goes, whether it’s okay if you stick to the hair oil hand wash head? Or should wear gloves before rubbing the head?
The answer to that question is no need to use gloves. If you do that means it’s exaggerating something, which is forbidden in the religion, because berwudhulah naturally rubbed with the palms that’s forgivable.
When there is a place of worship in ihram, you also have to wear two pieces of white cloth as a scarf or gloves. There are also tablets hadistnya that explains it. It reads is “Let any one of you berihram by using a glove and scarf and a pair of slippers.” (Narrated by Ahmad 2/34 & dishahihkan sanadnya by Ahmad Shakir).
Better ihram cloth is white which is also disunahkan by the Prophet. Maybe because the color white symbolizes purity and cleanliness, white cloth be preferred. Cloth made of cotton, wool or other.
That’s a little explanation about where Ihram along with the procedure when we are in a place of worship to perform ihram. It is appropriate for Muslims to practice what has been commanded by Allah and the Prophet.
